Welcome to Keith Elementary!

Keith Elementary is located in West Bloomfield, Michigan and is one of Walled Lake Consolidated Schools' twelve elementary schools. Keith Elementary celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2013 and has been the hub of the surrounding neighborhood communities. Keith Elementary employs over 60 staff members serving approximately 600 students. The staff members at Keith Elementary are leaders in the field of education as they emphasize innovation and creativity, and combine the power of technology with educational best practices in a collaborative environment that helps all students thrive academically, socially and emotionally.

A few of the reasons why our students are very proud and happy to attend Keith Elementary include our high standards for academic achievement and growth, the amazing programs brought to our students each year from an extremely active Parent-Teacher Association (PTA), and the positive relationships they have with the Keith teachers and staff. Keith Elementary students benefit from our PBS and MTSS programs, where every child has access to a curriculum that teaches them about social-emotional learning in addition to instruction that is differentiated to meet every child’s needs.

Academically, Keith Elementary and Walled Lake Consolidated Schools provide a rigorous curriculum across all grades and subject areas. Our core beliefs about highly effective teaching and learning include:

Keith Elementary celebrates a tradition of excellence in education by setting high expectations for academic, social and emotional growth. The Keith community promotes healthy lifestyle choices, honors the arts, develops student leadership, and encourages selflessness through a culture of caring and a spirit of giving. The close connection among staff members, students, parents, and community members has created a Keith family that is united in the purpose of guiding all of our students as they become socially responsible leaders and contributors with the knowledge, skills, and character to be successful. We are very proud of our genuine partnership with our families. Parent volunteers are visible as you walk through the halls of our school. Our teachers and families openly communicate and collaborate to support our children. The Keith Elementary PTA is a dynamic group of parents who help provide exciting opportunities for our children like assemblies, author visits, playground enhancements, iPads, and so much more! Keith families are dedicated and supportive beyond measure.

Keith Elementary is also known for our focus on fitness, nutrition, and social/emotional well-being. Keith Elementary has been awarded 1st place multiple times in the Michigan Surgeon General’s Healthy School Environment Recognition Program and has been honored as the top school for health and wellness in the state of Michigan by earning the Best and Brightest in Wellness Elite Award multiple years in a row. Additionally, Keith Elementary has earned the highest Green Schools distinction, Evergreen, each year since 2014. We have amazing student groups that work to teach our students about health and wellness including our Green Team, Garden Club, Girls on the Run, Stride for Boys, Kids Heart Challenge (formerly Jump Rope for Heart), Mileage Club Program, Buddy Bench, Keith Caring Community Service Club, Safety Patrol and Service Squad, and Students who Need A Pal Program (SNAPS) just to name a few.

Our teachers and staff at Keith Elementary are a dedicated, caring group of educators. They see each and every child's strengths and work to support their growth, both academically and social-emotionally. They understand the tremendous influence they have as educators and work tirelessly to educate every child, every day. The best part of our school is our children. We are proud of our Keith students who come to school each day to learn, grow, and make our world a better place!
